WHO

We empower a broad range of clients—from government agencies and utilities to corporations, nonprofits, financial institutions, and research organizations—with advanced analytics, modeling, and strategies for successful energy transitions. By tailoring solutions to meet unique client needs, we support local and federal agencies in setting policies, assist utilities in enhancing grid resilience, and enable corporations to achieve net-zero goals. Our work helps nonprofits amplify advocacy, guides financial institutions in sustainable investments, and advances academic research.

WHAT

We offer a comprehensive range of products designed to support clients in navigating the energy transition. Our services include detailed research reports, strategic presentations, expert testimony, public and private datasets, and impactful data visualizations. Each product is crafted to deliver clear, actionable insights, enabling our clients to make data-driven decisions. With a commitment to clarity, precision, and relevance, we equip organizations with the tools they need to lead in the transforming energy sector.

WHERE

Based principally in the U.S. we've been the analytical engine inside the majority of national decarbonization analyses conducted in the past decade including our ADP series.  We've also conducted dozens of analyses at the state and utility-service territory level. Recently, our reach has expanded globally. First, with our ADP for Europe that models continent and economy-wide decarbonization for countries in the European Union and the United Kingdom.  Second, with our Net-Zero Australia analysis with Princeton University. Finally, with the development of our global database for our RIO model to support decision-making at the planetary scale. Have models, will travel.

WHEN

For the past nine years we've demonstrated a history of impactful engagements, developing more deep decarbonzation analyses in more places than any other organization. All of our work can be accessed in our research archive.  Here are some of the highlights.

WHY

Energy as a sector represents 13% of global GDP and it's being concurrently upended by the forces of policy and technology. Meanwhile, the climate imperative means there is no time to pump the brakes. Legacy models, many dating back to the 1980s, struggle to capture today’s complexities. There’s never been a more critical time to enhance decision-making in this space—and yes, we genuinely enjoy running energy models, even if we can’t quite explain why.

HOW

We combine creative problem-solving with technical expertise, ensuring clients receive results precisely tailored to their needs. We carefully match the right models to each unique challenge, and when existing tools, including ours,  fall short, we innovate—building custom features and platforms to deliver strategic guidance. We can do all of this because unlike other firms, even our most senior partners have stayed close to the numbers. This approach supports clients in navigating the complexity of the energy transition with information and insight that's always first-hand.
